Kjøsterudjuvet: the adventure at the heart of the canyon
Description: We start the hike on a trail that leads to the entrance of the Kjøsterudjuvet canyon, where the rock walls rise up to 60 meters high. Sometimes, it will be necessary to climb over rocks or pass through small waterfalls. The ascent is dynamic and requires a bit of agility. It is not recommended for people who are afraid of heights or who are concerned about getting their shoes/clothes wet (except in summer, when there will be almost no water) Every effort is rewarded by the raw beauty of the canyon, sculpted by nature over 10000 years
After 1300 meters and a 250-meter elevation gain, we will arrive at Gamledammen Lake, a peaceful spot surrounded by forest, perfect for a well-deserved break. From there, we take a trail that leads to a rocky platform, offering a great viewpoint of the valley. It's an opportunity to admire the landscape
The return is via a forest trail, gentler but with some rocky sections. The atmosphere changes completely compared to the canyon. Once at the bottom, we take a bus to return to the starting point and complete this beautiful hike
